Environmental Indoor Air Quality

Sick House Symptoms?

Even though Mold and Allergens are our primary focus in the Environmental Field, there are other IAQ  (Indoor Air Quality)  issues to be concerned with.  When the question arises,  “Is your house making you sick?” , then these other following issues may be contributory. The newer environmental concern is C.I.R.S. Watch the video on the Home Page, "What's New."

If you live in Naperville, Oswego, Montgomery, Aurora, Plainfield, Yorkville, Sugar Grove (our base area) or others, Environmental Inspection Dynamics  can help you with the following:

Four major reasons why your home is making you sick.

1

The USEPA  (United States Environmental Protection Agency)  has now devised a value system on a scale of 1 to 4, or percentile ranking, to describe the level of mold in your home or place of work.  It is also known as  ERMI-DNA MOLD TESTING.  Dust samples are used to create a “dust historagram”  or a history of the molds that may exist within your habitat. This is key to testing for C.I.R.S.

Allergens caused by cats, dogs, cockroaches, dust mites, termites, mice and other rodents, etc. may be affecting your health.  We can take dust samplings to determine which allergens are present and at what levels.

Another cause of building related illnesses is the presence of VOC’s  (volatile organic compounds),  which are the off-gases emitted by chemicals such as paints and plastics.  The usual human responses to VOC’s are acute or chronic nausea and headaches.  We can perform a new method of sampling and testing for VOC’s and mVOC’s  (microbial VOC’s)  called the TO-15.

The other three environmental, "sick house"  concerns are: RADON, LEAD and ASBESTOS.  At present, we defer our requests for Radon and Lead testing to other competent associates.  With Lead, there are DIY kits available at local hardware and home center stores. For Asbestos, we sample by PLM for bulk and PCM by air  The asbestos analysis must always be performed by a qualified laboratory.

We use these accredited laboratories for analysis of the various samplings, tests and reporting formats.

Just like the equipment we use, Environmental Inspections Dynamics and consultants use only the bestEurofins Built Environment also known as EMLab P&K is the leading commercial indoor air quality testing laboratory in North AmericaWe also use EMSL for TO-15 analysis.
